I’m delighted to announce that my debut novel, the adventure thriller DEEP WATER, will be published next year.
Here’s a taster of the story:
When a naval vessel finds a sailing yacht in distress in the middle of the Indian Ocean, Captain Danial Tengku orders his ship to rush to its aid. On board is a British couple: a badly injured man, Jake, and his traumatised wife, Virginie, who claims they have come from Amarante, a remote paradise island known only by word of mouth. Then, shaking with fear, she confesses: “It’s all my fault. I killed them.”
Full of dreams of escape and spellbound by tales of exotic lands, Jake, a boat carpenter who loves to sail but is afraid of water, and Virginie, a lapsed artist attempting to heal from an abusive first marriage, put all the money they had into a yacht, planning to explore the high seas together.
Their voyage takes them from the busy harbours of Malaysia to the untouched beaches of Amarante, where they become entangled with a motley crew of expat sailors.
But as the twists and turns of Virginie’s strange story unfold, what began as a wanderlust-filled dream starts to morph into something far more frightening, and the “middle of nowhere” soon holds more threat than promise as the adventure of a lifetime becomes a nightmare.
DEEP WATER will be published by Scout Press in the US and Canada in June 2022 and in the UK and Commonwealth in July. It will be followed by another thriller in 2023.
